When deciding on which boatlift is right for you, keep these criteria in mind:

  • The owners manual for your boat typically states the dry weight, that does not include any fluids, fuel, accessories, persons & gear.
  • You should always upsize your boatlift for your boat.  For any fishing boats, runabouts & open bows smaller than 18ft, pick a lift that has a capacity 1500lbs greater than that of the documented dry weight listed in the owners manual of your boat.
  • For boats larger than 18ft, wake/surf boats, or boats weighing in excess of 4000lbs, pick a lift with a capacity 2000lbs greater than that of the documented dry weight listed in the owners manual.
  • You should have a gradual sloping shoreline & lake bottom without obstructions (rocks, roots). You will also require an adequate amount of room on your property to store the boat lift during the winter months.
